My name is Trey Stephens, and I got my LASIK surgery 28 days ago.

I decided to get LASIK because I had worn contacts and glasses for 10 years and just the wear and tear of glasses and contacts and contacts solution and all the maintenance that goes into it, I was like, “Man this isn’t worth it anymore.” The reason that I wore contacts and glasses, I was nearsighted I was, perfect vision until I turned 15 and then, Boom! My eyes changed.

The most frustrating part about wearing contacts and glasses is: What wasn’t frustrating? Always digging in your eye to put a contact in, blurred vision, having to worry about taking your contacts out at night when you go to sleep, just all the headaches, having something on your face constantly, it was just a nightmare from the day I was diagnosed with bad eyes.

I decided to get LASIK kind of spur of the moment. I’d always had thought about it but I was like, “I don’t know how much it costs, I don’t know really what happens.” And then, it’s funny because two of my friends within a 2-week period, both on the spur of the moment, went in and got LASIK, and they told me how great it was, and I was like, “You know what? I’m just going to do it.” So I think I called the next day, and then had a consultation the day after, and then a week later, I had new eyes.

I would describe the LASIK of Nevada staff as wonderful! I called into another LASIK surgery center here in Las Vegas, and they were real “sales-y” and real pushy, and I called LASIK of Nevada and I just felt like right away, I like I felt they were more down-to-earth and more genuine. So as soon as I came in, the first person I saw was Stephanie, and she greeted me with open arms, and everybody else was just as welcoming and it was a very great experience from start to finish, and even now.

On the day of the procedure, I was nervous. I was nervous for a lot of reasons: I didn’t know what to really expect, I didn’t know if I was going to wake up blind. I actually got up that morning and worked out and kind of calmed my nerves. But as soon as I got there, I started filling out the paperwork and we went back to the room, and Dr. Rothman went over every single persons individual case, which I liked, meaning that he took the time to actually know what he was doing. It wasn’t like a big, “Oh, you’re going to get your eyes worked on.” After that, I kind of took my calming pill and just relaxed and chilling and then the next thing you know, Boom! I could see! It was the most amazing experience I’ve had…besides a couple of other things…but a cool experience!

Since my procedure, my results have been amazing. I’m actually seeing 20/12, and the doctor says there’s a chance I might 20/10, which is crazy because I never thought I’d see that well.

My overall life experience has just been better in the 30 days since I’ve had the procedure. I can “See HD,” I like to say. No more waking up and putting on your contacts in my eyes, I look at a computer screen 8 hours out of the day at work, and I don’t have to look away for hours just to clear my head and not have a headache. So the procedure has been great and my eyes are great.

Was this worth the investment? Yes, and more! For what I paid, I honestly think I should have paid more for what I can do. I would say this has been the best investment of my life so far.
