In this video, Alex shares his experience as a LASIK of Nevada patient. Alex speaks about his decision to have LASIK, the LASIK of Nevada staff, the day of the procedure, his results and how his investment in LASIK has changed his life.
Hi, my name is Alex, and I had my LASIK procedure a little bit over 4 months ago.
I decided to get LASIK because I was nearsighted, almost blind as a bat, and my optometrist was actually the one that recommended that I look into it, so I did.
Before LASIK I used both contacts and glasses, starting with the glasses when I was about 9. I upgraded that to contacts just before I turned 15, and I was hunky-dory with that for a while, but I had to upgrade again, it was time for a change.
The frustrating part about wearing contacts is the, “when am I gonna lose it” factor. These hot days in the desert you blink, and all of the sudden one eye can see, the other one can’t, I forgot my eye drops, pinch me or think of a sad movie so I can cry and re-wet my eyes!
If I were to describe the staff at LASIK of Nevada I’d use the word “diligent,” because there was no question left unanswered, they were friendly, great follow-ups, it reassured me to know that they were there. On the day of the procedure, I walked in, I was nervous, wasn’t sure quite what to expect. I had asked around and some friends told me, “It’s simple don’t worry about it, it take longer to prep than the actual procedure does,” and they were right. I walked in, signed some papers, reviewed some things, prepped, got ready, and then I go into the back room for the procedure and I’m done!
Now the results of my LASIK procedure is I can see 20/15. It’s great! I don’t have to rely on glasses, don’t have to rely on contacts anymore. The LASIK procedure has improved my life in several ways. For starters, I’m a professional truck driver and so I don’t have to worry about any blurred vision. It’s great! I see crystal clear, be it day or night. The LASIK procedure is definitely worth the investment for me, because now I don’t have to worry about renewing prescriptions, getting more contacts.
Every time I go get another package of contacts, the optometrist would be like, “Woah, that prescription? Really?” Because I was near the limit. Won’t come any thicker than that!
For anybody thinking about LASIK, I’d say go for it. I was one of those Nervous Nelly’s. I wasn’t sure whether this was for me or not. But it is safe, it is fast, its worth the investment.
